Sandra Clifton, born on December 8, 1942, in Bell Gardens, California to Richard and Yvonne Clifton, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Salt Lake City following a brief illness. During her final 34 days, she was cared for by the skilled and compassionate staff of the Intermountain Medical Center Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic ICU teams. Her family wishes to express sincere gratitude to all medical personnel for their steadfast support and dedication during this time.
Sandra proudly served in the United States Army as a medic from 1964 to 1965. It was during her service that she met and married James P. Minnock in 1965; they enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2008. Subsequently, Sandra attended Weber State College and later contributed her expertise at the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, retiring in 2004. In her last five years, Sandra resided at the Coventry Senior Center in Cottonwood Heights, where she made many friends and pursued her love for gardening and tended to the facility’s flowers and plants.
She is survived by her sons, James Minnock (Kristel), Joseph Minnock (Brynn), John Minnock (Jan), and Jason Minnock (Tamara); grandsons Jack, Alex, and Jesse; and her cherished cat, Mac.
Renowned for her gentle nature and creative talents, Sandra took pleasure in gardening, sewing, needlepointing, and reading. Her warmth, commitment to family, and enthusiasm for her interests enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
